Called Becky in Greenville, BG in Chattanooga, 柯莎白 （Ke Shabai) in China, Betsy by most — in the fall I’ll be taking on a new name: Ms. Betsy? Yes, for the next year I will be living in Shanghai, China, and teaching English to adorable little Kindergartners. I’m super excited, super nervous, and mainly ready to eat lots of dumplings. This blog will follow my crazy ramblings across the Middle Kingdom and my life as an English teacher in the chaos of a booming Chinese metropolis.
Other things about me? I graduated from Furman University with a Political Science and Asian Studies double major. My most loyal confidante is a dog named Moose. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite food is sandwiches. I once stuck a Red Hot up my nose. It hurt.
